Case Study: Tempe Union High School District has embraced Empowered Governance and engaged with SBP consultants to accomplish the following deliverables in 2023 thus far:

  • Revised Governance Policy to align with the Empowered Governance model - unanimous board approval on May 17, 2023

  • Engaged with SBP/BK Consulting to facilitate a board retreat in July 2023, resulting in unanimous board approval on August 16, 2023 for a rigorous set of district goals for the 2023-24 school year. These goals represent a substantial improvement in quality and focus on student outcomes vs. prior school years.

  • The board retreat also resulted in a year-long board monitoring calendar which will keep the board focused on comprehensive district performance data for a majority of its meeting agendas during the 2023-24.

  • We are excited to continue to support TUHSD throughout the 2023-24 school year on additional policy deliverables.
