A year long program created by School board Partners

The School Board Partners fellowship involves a small cohort of school board members from across the country participating in a year-long fellowship focused on development in the areas of self-care, racial equity, good governance and personal leadership. The fellowship also includes personalized one-on-one coaching and has been a foundational offering of School Board Partners. Our Collective Power is an annual gathering of a community of school board members that is completely centered on their needs and experiences. Policy Success at Tempe Union High School

Case Study: Tempe Union High School District has embraced Empowered Governance and engaged with SBP consultants to accomplish the following deliverables in 2023 thus far:

Revised Governance Policy to align with the Empowered Governance model - unanimous board approval on May 17, 2023
Engaged with SBP/BK Consulting to facilitate a school board retreat in July 2023, resulting in unanimous board approval on August 16, 2023 for a rigorous set of district goals for the 2023-24 school year. These goals represent a substantial improvement in quality and focus on student outcomes vs. prior school years.
The board retreat also resulted in a year-long board monitoring calendar which will keep the board focused on comprehensive district performance data for a majority of its meeting agendas during the 2023-24.
We are excited to continue to support TUHSD throughout the 2023-24 school year on additional policy deliverables.
