Erica Freeman
VP of Impact
Erica is inspired by this new opportunity to realize systemic change in K-12 education through effective service and leadership by elected school board members across the country. She brings a diverse range of experience to the SBP leadership team, with strong backgrounds in education, organizational strategy, brand management, and strategic communications.
Previously, Erica served in various roles at NOLA Public Schools in New Orleans, Louisiana where she worked in charter school accountability, school support and improvement, special projects and partnerships, and district communications. Before that, her professional experiences include management consulting and brand management, specializing in the Retail, Consumer Products, and Logistics industries. Erica began her career as a classroom teacher and Teach for America corps member in Dallas where she taught 6th-grade math and also served as the middle school math and science department chair.
She is a proud alumna of Howard University where she received a degree in Marketing. She also has an MBA in Marketing and Sustainable Enterprise from Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill (UNC), where she was a Non-Profit Board Fellow. Furthering her education, Erica recently received a Certificate of Education Finance from Georgetown’s McCourt School of Public Policy.
