Board Member Self-Assessment
The purpose of our self-assessment is to help school board members evaluate their strengths and areas for improvement in relation to equity and impact. By combining your results with rubrics developed in collaboration with our fellows and members, you can identify the steps needed to become a more effective leader and work toward closing the opportunity gap, especially for students of color.
How It Works
This self-assessment usually takes just a few minutes to complete, but there is no time limit. Take as much time as you need to answer each question honestly for the most accurate results.
Once completed, you will be able to compare your scores to our Becoming an Equity-Minded School Board Member and Becoming an Impactful School Board Member rubrics. These rubrics are designed to help you develop a plan for growth and take steps toward improving opportunities for all students.
Support for Board Members
If you identify areas for improvement after completing the self-assessment and reviewing the rubrics, School Board Partners offers a range of programs to support your development. Whether you’re interested in becoming a fellow, attending the Our Collective Power conference, or receiving individual support and consultation, we can provide the resources you need.
If you have any questions about the self-assessment or our other resources, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to provide the support and information you need.
